The rails are rolled from carbon-killed steel smelted in open-hearth or oxygen converter furnaces and are used to withstand the operating pressure and impact load of rolling stock. The cross-section shape of the rail is an I-shaped cross-section with the best bending resistance, which is composed of three parts: rail head, rail waist and rail bottom.
