- Square steel is a very strong, solid steel bar with excellent strength and cold resistance. With its high strength and versatility, square steel is used in a wide range of applications in the construction and fencing industries, most commonly in commercial and residential buildings, lightweight steel construction, steel roof framing, but also in grating, hinges, handles, rails and railroads.
- The hot rolling process for square steel makes the metal easier to shape and produces larger sizes. Hot rolling is usually cheaper than cold rolling because it can become a finished product with no time delay. Conversely, the cold rolling process can increase the strength of the finished product by as much as 20% while creating a gray finish that is smooth to the touch.
